Over the past few years we have cut back on making posts about our transports and this is due to the amount of scammers and attempts of people trying to steal animals to resell them. We monitor our transports closely and travel in pairs (driver and co driver) we also perform background checks on all applicants that must fill out a volunteer application for any of our open positions. Due to the increase in scammers on the internet and the road we will NOT be posting anymore pictures, locations etc. of our transports. The safety of the animals and people involved is our number one priority. Stay safe out there and thank you for your continued support!
]]><![CDATA[Lots and lots of travel]]>Sun, 08 Dec 2024 17:58:00 GMThttp://www.romanstravelwithcare.com/successful-transports/lots-and-lots-of-travelWe have been busy and stay busy with transporting all over that it's hard to post all the transports unless we get a volunteer to handle these posts. We helped a lot with disaster relief in FL, SC, GA and NC with the hurricanes and storms that went through a few months ago. We appreciate all your donations to help these victims in need. Please continue to reach out to us or your local shelters and rescues to see what is needed and if you can drive a few miles to help that would be fantastic! As always we are so grateful for everyone who helps! ]]><![CDATA[Final run]]>Wed, 26 Jul 2023 18:38:31 GMThttp://www.romanstravelwithcare.com/successful-transports/final-run
We saw Charlie listed in Tennessee in a tiny animal shelter, he was a stray. We immediately said YES to taking Charlie into our rescue for care and adoption however, on the day of pick up for transport Charlie had passed away. The reality of deceased pets at a shelter is they are bagged like trash and buried at the landfill. Karen did not want Charlie to end up like that she reached out to the Shelter Director and requested his body be cremated and returned to her for his final resting place. We as a rescue gladly paid for Charlie to be cremated at the nearby facility in Tennessee, his ashes were transported to South Carolina where he now rests in Karen's home. Our hearts are heavy but all of us here at RTWC are about doing what's best for the animal and that's exactly what Charlie received the best final resting place with love. Run free at the Rainbow Bridge Charlie!

A small world, the founder of RTWC Karen was at an appointment in speaking with an individual she learned the person had an injured duck that needed help. She said no Vet could assist, Karen offered help, she made contact with Kim at Carolina Wildlife Rehab Center about the injured duck, Kim said yes to assisting with the injured duck. Karen drove to NC to pick up the injured duck and transport to Kim at CWRC, it appears a snapping turtle got a hold of the duck's beak. Talk about being at the right place at the right time, this was one of those times. We are so happy to assist with getting this injured duck the help it needed.

We have new team members as the more experienced teams have moved up to assisting with local rescues and assisting with animal cruelty cases and more. We will begin posting transports again. We've remained active with all aspects of our rescue and transporting leaving little time for website admin duties but we are branching out focusing on public education, first responders for disaster relief, cruelty cases and more. We appreciate the continued support! Please check back for upcoming transport(s) updates!
