Our Adoption Process
All potential adopters are required to fill out our adoption application. Please complete the online application. Once we receive your application we will call your references first, including your Vet. Once all references are checked, we will notify you as to whether or not your application has been approved. If your application is approved, we will schedule a time for you to meet the animal (dog, puppy, cat or kitten) and a time for us to complete a home check. Please note, you must be willing to travel to the location of the animal which may include to the foster home the animal is residing for a visit with the animal(s). We want our animals to go to the right, forever, home it is not always guaranteed that you will be approved for the animal that you have applied for. In this case, we will work with you so that the right match for everyone involved is made. We spend a lot time getting to know each animal so that they can be placed with a family they are appropriate for as well as a family that is appropriate for them.
All of our animals have been fully vetted. This includes all shots, spayed or neutered (if over 6 months of age), currently on heart worm preventative and dewormed. Our animals are groomed and complete an evaluation on how they act around other dogs, cats, and children. We see how they do walking on a leash and their behavior on a day to day bases. Each animal comes with a Health Certificate provided by a licensed and certified Veterinarian.
Upon the completion of the adoption process you will be expected to pick up your newly adopted pet within 24 to 48 hours. If you are unable to travel to the location for pick up we can assist with transporting at an additional fee to be determined by us via the distance of travel.
Our adoption donation starts at $56 (cat or kitten) and $150 & up for dogs 1 year and younger (puppy), for dogs over 1 year old the adoption donation starts at $150* (please note some dogs/puppies/cats/kittens may have a slightly higher adoption donation request based on the medical needs for that particular animal. Medical needs are procedures and medications outside of the normal preventative care and law requiring vacations.)
