Our wonderful friends in Maryland, House of Hope rescued Charlotte from the Columbus County Animal Shelter in NC. We drove up to NC picked her up and transported her to her foster Mom in Wilmington, NC. Two hour round trip of freedom. Thank you HOH and Joanne!

Columbus County Animal Shelter in Whiteville, NC was in urgent need of cat food. They recently took in over 100 cats and kittens from a hoarding situation. Through coordination with April and All 4 Paws SC we went down on Saturday loaded up our truck as much as we could, we delivered the food Sunday morning to the shelter, while there we got a tour of the shelter and all the beautiful cats and kittens. The facility was clean and spotless and people there working hard! We are so grateful for their hard work and many thanks to April, Shannon and All 4 Paws for donating the food! We love it when we can make a big run so we started out at 7:30 AM driving to Myrtle Beach, SC to pick up our two rescues Felicia and Lincoln Brown from the foster Tiffany (thank you!) once we got them loaded up we headed to April to pick up dog food and supplies to deliver to the shelter in Conway, once we got loaded up we headed to the shelter in Conway to drop off supplies and to pick up two Labs rescued by House of Hope. We departed from Conway and made the drive to Mullins, SC to drop off much needed food and supplies to Marion Animal Shelter and give food and supplies to a fellow Foster who met us there, we then headed to Columbus Vet in Cerro Gordo to drop off the two Labs for vetting and boarding. Finally, we were headed home with our two little rescues to get them started on their journey to finding their forever homes. A busy day but a very good day! We love it when a rescue steps up and saves a family, in this situation MJ's Animal Sanctuary saved Bianca, a young Lab female dog sitting in the shelter with a broken leg. They rescued her and she was immediately sent to the vet for surgery. They were informed that Bianca's mother Savannah was also at the shelter. A good rescue knows and follows the kindness of "no family left behind" and that's what MJ's followed they immediately rescued Savannah and sent her to the vet for full vetting. They asked if we could transport the girls from NC up to Maryland, we were already in MD but we agreed to help get the girls to Richmond, VA and we would transport from VA to the rescue in MD. A HUGE thank you to April D., Raffaela, Candice, Kenneth and Kristen for coming together to help get these girls from NC to MD! GREAT TEAM WORK! Bianca now "Jasna" has been adopted and recovering nicely in her new forever home and Savannah is having a great time in her foster home with new foster brother Thor (see picture). This is why we do what we do and love every mile of it! (thank you to the individuals who sponsored the leg surgery and the donations to help with transport, without you all this would not have been possible) Rescue Lane out of Texas contacted us needing a foster for one of their little Chihuahua puppies Buttercup. We inquired about the issue and agreed to drive 2 hours to pick up the puppy and foster until arrangements are completed for transport back to Texas or to her new adopter. She is such a cutie and gets along great with other dogs and cats. She is crate trained and working on house training. We are happy to help our fellow rescues in times of need. Griffen was rescued by House of Hope in Maryland and was currently being fostered in Wilmington, NC. We picked up Griffen and fostered overnight before making the journey North to Maryland to House of Hope. He's a big boy and has already found his forever home and loving life! Thank you Joanne for fostering him and to House of Hope providing the second chance at a great life! This transport is of a different nature as we were not scheduled to transport this little puppy but we received a call for an urgent transport. The original transporter was in a bad car accident on her way to pick up the puppy from the shelter. We had just walked in the door from a 4 hour round trip transport, It was 2:00pm and the puppy had to be picked up at the shelter 30 minutes away and transported to Florence, SC to their rescue by 3:30pm. We jumped back in our transport vehicle went to the shelter picked up the puppy and got to Florence, SC by 3:59pm! We are happy to help as much as we can even when it's at the drop of hat. We are happy to report that the transporter is ok and no serious injuries. We are thankful they are all ok. Thank you to April D., Amy W. and Fostering Foster Animal Rescue for saving this puppy! We received a call for a plea to foster a pitbull in desperate need of rescue, he was sitting on death row at the shelter. We agreed to go pick him up and foster him for 6 days and transport him to his vet for his neuter and vetting then off to his rescue. Pluto is such a sweet dog and loves to play and gets along good with other dogs. He really wants to be a lap dog! Thank you to his rescue for saving his life! Ollie's Angels Rescue needed help getting 4 of their rescued puppies and one dog from their foster to their connecting transport to New York. We drove to Conway, SC to pick up the puppies and dog from their foster mom, transported them to Dillon, SC to meet Howl on Wheels for their transport to New York. Big Rocky rescued by House of Hope got a freedom ride from us, we picked him up at the shelter and transported him to Columbus Vet in North Carolina. When we picked him up we only had a pink leash so we apologized to Rocky for the pink leash (lol). He just laid down on the rug at the door of the shelter as if to say "it's about time, I'm leaving" He did really good on the transport and such a sweet boy. Good luck Rocky! |
