And first there was a Mom and her 9 puppies then there were 5 then it became 8 dogs and 9 puppies and two transport drivers. Due to the flooding in SC we assisted in evacuating dogs and puppies from the shelter in Conway, SC (HCACC) The HSUS had already been there and pulled over 40 dogs and cats but more needed to be rescued or moved to make room for more stranded flood animals. One of our fellow transporters Joseph was a second transporter for this large transport. We loaded up the 8 dogs and 9 puppies and headed to All 4 Paws Animal Rescue in Pawley's Island, SC. What a great day to help save so many! Thanks to All 4 Paws for their assistance with this rescue and transport! Great team work!

A very nice lady in Conway, SC rescued a baby squirrel during the hurricane, we picked him up and transported him to the wildlife rescue, Pine Tree Hill Wildlife Care & Exotic Rescue, Our first storm squirrel from the coast (they have taken in about 25 state wide since Saturday) has arrived! It's a little Eastern Fox Squirrel and he is doing great! Thank you to all who worked to get this baby to us! This was our first wildlife animal to transport, many thanks to everyone who helped this little guy!
We were contacted the Friday before Hurricane Matthews landed in SC if we could pick up 7 Lab puppies (rescued by NELR) and transport to foster on Monday with temporary fostering by us. We immediately headed to Marion Shelter to pick up the 7 puppies. We set up a comfy safe temporary foster for them. We gave them baths and lots and lots of TLC through the hurricane. For two days we were without power but we kept the puppies clean, dry and safe. They had awesome food and fresh water and new toys and doggy beds and blankets they had no idea a Hurricane had just hit. On Monday we transported them 3 hours inland to their foster. We thank NELR for rescuing these beautiful puppies!
These three little kittens needed a ride from their temporary foster in Myrtle Beach, SC to their rescue in Gastonia, NC so we made the 8 hour round trip to help these three beauties get there. From a shelter life to a good life with lots of love, toys and happiness for these kittens! Thank you to the fosters and the rescue for saving them from the shelter!
This is a brief highlight on our deployment with the Humane Society of the United States, from September 25th through October 1st we were in North Carolina working with the HSUS with a puppy mill situation where 130 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens were rescued along with three goats. It was a great experience for us and we look for to working with them again. We are grateful for what the HSUS does in saving animals and providing a wonderful outcome for all involved.
