A Very Sick Pit Bull

We are always monitoring social media for rescues in need of help, we came across a rescue needing help with a very sick pit bull that was ditched by the adopter at Frederick County Animal Control Center in Frederick, MD. In a back and forth conversation with the rescue I drove to Frederick to the shelter to get the pit bull named Bandit. We were stuck in traffic so we called an associate of ours Helen to ask her to go to the shelter and pull him, without hesitation Helen went to the shelter and pulled Bandit until we arrived. She kept him comfortable in a blanket in her car. After sitting in the parking lot at the shelter for two hours waiting on the rescue to give us direction on what to do we transferred Bandit to our vehicle and drove to the emergency hospital where he was treated earlier in the day to get his medicine. We sat there for 30 minutes waiting on medicine then finally the office desk employee said she will have the perscriptions called into our vet of where we were fostering Bandit in Maryland until the rescue could make arrangement for him to be transported to New York to the his rescue and vet hospital for proper care. We fostered Bandit overnight and provided him with food and water and love and compassion. Finally, through hours of coordinating we were able to release Bandit to his transporter and he was headed to New York for medical attention and to start his adoption process all over again. We will not elaborate or mention the rescue by name or the vet hospital in Frederick as our experience with both of them was unprofessional on their part.  Our focus is always the well being of the animal and their safety not money or the costs in saving an animal. This transport and fostering was FREE to the rescue. We didn't want any money for what we did for Bandit. Since this time we have been notified that Bandit made his trip to New York and is greatly improving and we are so thankful for that. We love Bandit and wish him all the best! Bandit is OUR HERO!
