Transport fail or success?

A few months ago we were the final leg in transporting a little dog in a two day transport from her rescue in Texas to her adopter in North Carolina, that little dog is Opal. After four days with her new adopter things didn't work out for the adopter so Opal was returned to the rescue (Rescue Lane) and again would start a two day transport back to Texas but that never happened. The owner of RTWC (Karen) stepped up and adopted Opal! "I did not feel it necessary for this little dog to be shuffled around again and make another two day trip back to rescue so she can await for a forever home. I liked Opal from the first time I transported her" said the owner of RTWC. After all paperwork and home check was completed Opal was adopted and only had to make a short one hour trip home! Opal stayed with a loving Foster Mom in NC (Pamela) who took good care of Opal for three weeks until Karen could make it back to get her as she was snowed in while transporting in Maryland. Opal has now been named "Opal Cricket Ross". "I kept her rescue name because that's her name and I added the middle names of two of the strongest, bravest men I have ever known, Cricket after my Father's middle name and Ross after my best friend's husband's middle name who passed away 12/14/15. She's a brave strong little girl and she's earned it." Opal will now enjoy a long life with Karen and her other family pets Roman Empire, Hunter Green, Dolly Wiggles, Gemma Gem and Priscilla. "I feel blessed to have this little dog in my family, what may have started out as a transport fail really turned into a successful transport, this is how it was supposed to turn out." Another Board member of RTWC also adopted a puppy from another transport a few months ago, Marcus adopted "Heidi" from House of Hope in MD, she is one of Lola's puppies. "I hope this does not become an ongoing thing, if it does I have to buy another house! I guess I can say we have done it all, transported, foster, home checks and now adopted. All of my Board members have adopted, rescued, foster and do so much for animals and for others, I say we are a good group of animal lovers doing our best." Thank you to all involved in helping with Opal's journey!
